The pandemic caused by the COVID-19 has caused important changes. Our daily life has changed, and we have had to adapt to this new reality. After the harshest months of the pandemic, taking security measures was essential, and this is what we have done in Calella. Today we are talking about the reasons that make Calella a safe tourist destination.
What does it mean?
Calella's "Safe Tourism Certified" certificate is official. This certificate, endorsed by the Institute for Spanish Quality Tourism (ICTE), guarantees the new safety and hygienic protocols set by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Ministry of Health and ICTE are followed.
This new makes Calella's beach the first Catalan beach to receive this badge. The implemented measures have been the key factor to guarantee the safety and well-being of Calella's beach users in the current pandemic situation.
Some of them are:
- Design of a complete disinfection protocol.
- Installation of a capacity control system.
- Adaptation of spaces to guarantee social distance
- Incorporation of hydroalcoholic gels and EPIS for workers and collaborators, among others
In addition, the city has created a training program for its entire team in which all the protocols and precautions are thaught in order to be adopted in the tourism sector. Internal and external audits of the SGS company have verified the proper functioning of these new protocols.
The size of the beach, a key anti-COVID factor
Local media have echoed the free spaces that Calella beach offers. Its considerable width allows the safety distance between visitors to be respected. Also, this year's occupancy is lower than usual, as expected. Specifically, the maximum occupancy was 6.5% in this month of July.
Enjoying a safe and exclusive vacation is in your hands. You can enjoy the spacious Calella beach at Hotel Neptuno & Apartments, located just 4 minutes walk from the beach.
